Resources for our friends from Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, community church and other backgrounds who are interested
in becoming an orthodox Lutheran
Many who have been raised in generic protestant or other churches of a Arminian or Reformed heritage are re-examining
the weaknesses in the theology of their childhood churches and are taking a look at traditional Lutheran teaching and practice.
While not all Lutheran churches would be what they are looking for, Gloria Christi strives to maintain the faith that was
once for all delivered to the saints, despites the corrosive influences of our culture and the watering down of doctrine within
some Lutheran organizations and congregations.
Below are some resources that may prove helpful for those of a non-Lutheran protestant background, especially in matters
of differences, sacraments, liturgy and so forth.
1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will
judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season
and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching
ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears
away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all
things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
